Senior Product Safety & Compliance Engineer
Reporting to the Senior Product Safety & Compliance Manager, this function involved managing the efficient approval
of product to regulatory compliance, market certification and internal product requirements. The role provided a
consultancy function to development teams along with project management of the approvals process.
Carried out the detailed planning of regulatory certification, safety, disability access and environmental
compliance which enabled the successful approval and sale of over 90 products into worldwide markets
Created and maintained a web-based "information forum" which provided a self-help system for identifying regulatory
approvals information and reduced the time spent identifying relevant information for both the compliance engineering
team and their customers
Established a product markings database which provided the Product Safety & Compliance team with a single,
up-to-date source of product labelling requirements by country and by product type. This database provided consistency
across the team and reduced reducing the time taken to establish the information
Instigated and supported a policy change for vehicle power adapters to make regulatory certification to formal safety
standards mandatory, following several delays to product approvals due to ongoing negotiations with import regulators.
These policy changes resulted in the elimination of delayed product approvals
